AT THE CHICOPEE HOUSING AUTHORITY
The Chicopee Housing Authority employs
a staff of approximately 40 to provide for the needs of our
residents and applicants for housing. We offer employment
in a diversified array of positions ranging from Clerical
to Maintenance. All openings are publicly advertised using
the Springfield Republican as well as services such as the
Department of Employment and Training.
Our office/clerical positions require that employees be familiar with
computers, the current word processing programs such as MICROSOFT WORD
and that they be familiar with normal office functions. The Maintenance
Department requires skilled maintenance employees familiar with residential
apartment construction/maintenance. Duties performed included an array
of activities from snow removal and lawn care to carpentry, plumbing
and electrical work. Demonstrable skill levels are required for all
positions.

diverse nature of our resident population we consider fluency in a
second language to be an asset in a prospective employee.
Individuals offered employment by the CHA are required to allow a
criminal record information search with the Massachusetts Criminal
History Systems Board and must meet the physical requirement of the
work involved.
